Suspend 'Suspension of Operation (SoO)' agreement

The underground outfits under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) are not in compliance with the agreements laid down under SoO and so it must be suspended as the government is incurring extra expenditure on it, said Morung Makunga, member of legislative assembly on the third day of the ongoing seventh session of the ninth Manipur Legislative Assembly today.

Manipur Chief Minister O. Ibobi 'Sadistic & irresponsible', - MAFYF

In a Press Note released by the Department of Publicity of Manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF), the Chief Minister of Manipur, O Ibobi Singh, has been described as sadistic and irresponsible.

Democratic Students Association Manipur along with general secretaries of various college students union have submitted a memorandum to the chief minister stating that all of the 28 government colleges (25 general education college, 2 teachers training and 1 law college) under the direct administrative control of the Manipur government have been functioning without regular principals since the last two decades.

The underground RPF in a press release lauded the brave fight the women of Manipur have been putting up against overwhelming oppressive condition they have been put in by the circumstance prevailing in the state.
The message comes as a greeting on the occasion of the International Women’s Day which falls on March 8.

AG Koteshor fear for his life

AG N. Koteshor, who is currently undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital after being shot by a Cabinet Minister while returning from Ukhrul, fears for his life. Sources close to the injured AG, informed that in a private talk, the injured AG has expressed fear for his life, and is apprehensive of the security provided by the state government. The source further claims that the security being provided by the Government is to make sure that the AG does not talk to the Press Media.

RPF, Starting New Offensive

In a Press note release today , the proscribed Revolutionary Peoples Front (RPF)said that the organisation is going on a new offensive against the Indian Armed Forces. It claimed that the cadres of the outfit’s armed wing PLA as part of its new strategic operation has fought several gunbattles with government forces since March 2 at different areas in the state.

NHRC, 111 Fake Killings in Manipur

In a communique sent to the Manipur state Government by the National Human Rights commission (NHRC), the State Government of Manipur has been directed to explain the 111 fake killings reports that the Commission has received. The NHRC has sought explanation why this 111 fake killing reports have not been forwarded to the Commission.
